New Blood returns November 5th with a phat stack of local talent and rising stars – ie a HEAVY lineup befitting the FINAL New Blood rd. before the FINAL JAM in December:🩸 Sunless – A newly formed Gong Metalcore band – drawing influences from hardcore to prog metalcore and everything in between – and coming off a huge La’s launch of single “Thalassophobia”!
🩸 Necrosis – A five-piece, fem-fronted DIY Deathcore band formed late 2024 – bringing blast beats, filthy riffs & barbaric vocals – and striving to create a sense of community and togetherness throughout the heavy music scene 🖤
🩸 Switch Up – A CBR metalcore band formed in March 2024; with an EP (Dec ‘24) and a NEW single (Aug ‘25) under their belt, they’re back to follow up a huge Gong + La’s debut a couple months back!
🩸 St Slime – A psych / stoner / garage 4-piece inspired by Gong’s long history of “weirdo surf punk” with “Riffy Slabs of sound combined with raw, heartfelt lyrics that take you away just long enough to feel the cinderblock impact that follows.”

The goal for these shows is to spotlight and help new bands in our area gain skills through booking gigs/tours, learning marketing and promotion techniques, solid music releases and other key factors that contribute to having a successful music career.
Bands who play New Blood will have a chance to play a ‘Final Jam’ at the end of the year and to be chosen for a Y&O grant where they will receive one of the following prizes:
- Possible distribution of a single or EP via Farmer & the Owl label
- A spot on a Y&O run Festival
