LIFTOFF! is a special one-night event focused on the iconic Brackett Park Rocket, presented in partnership with the Midtown Greenway Coalition and the Greenway Glow Bike Ride and Arts Festival. Here's the schedule:
5-8 pm - PRELAUNCH COMMUNITY BYO PICNIC
• Bring a blanket, picnic, flashlights and friend
• Special Guests: Return Journey artist Randy Walker, Astronaut Duane “Digger” Carey, Rocket storytellers and members of the original Rocket Boosters
• Space Jam Rock-it Classics, giant bubbles, far-out lawn games, frisbee and paper airplane contest, rocket bling-making, VR (virtual reality) space exploration, fence yarn-bombing and more!
8-10 pm - PREPARE FOR LIFTOFF!
• TigerLion and the Flashlight Flash Mob
• Shadow puppetry, deep space animations, costumed creatures, special effects and light shows featuring Paige Dansinger, Eva Adderley, pETER gIEBINK and other talented local artists
• Stargazing (see the rings of Jupiter!)
