For March Break, The Canadian Canoe Museum is hosting the Biinaagami Giant Floor Map, an Indigenous-guided initiative of Canadian Geographic and Swim, Drink, Fish.
Visitors are invited to step onto this enormous interactive map, measuring 8 × 11 metres, and explore the waterways that shape our region. Traverse the rivers and tributaries of the Great Lakes basin from their source waters through streams and lakes, and eventually to the Atlantic Ocean. Along the way, explore Indigenous languages spoken in your region and learn whose land you are living and learning on while moving through the Great Lakes with two-eyed seeing.
This unique and engaging experience features embedded augmented reality (AR) and encourages participants to see the watershed from multiple perspectives.
This is a drop-in hands-on, family-friendly activity suitable for visitors of all ages!
