Trade the dust for water and join Paddle Boarding SD for a night inspired by the creativity, connection, lights, music, and community spirit of the playa.
We will launch together at twilight and paddle into a tucked-away cove, where a DJ will perform from a glowing pontoon boat surrounded by paddleboards, kayaks, lights, and the open water.
Once we return to land, the celebration continues with more DJ sets, fire spinners, illuminated art, burner-inspired style, and the ceremonial burning of our very own man.
This is more than a paddle. It is a community gathering built around music, movement, creativity, and connection.
🔥 WHAT WE’RE DOING
• Sunset group paddle from Ski Beach
• Live DJ set from a pontoon boat in the cove
• Illuminated paddleboards and creative costumes
• DJ sets and community celebration on land
• Fire-spinning performances
• Lights, art, music, and burner-inspired energy
• The burning of our own man
All experience levels are welcome. This will be a relaxed, social paddle, not a race. Please be comfortable paddling after sunset or remain close to one of our experienced paddlers.
⏰ SCHEDULE
6:00 PM: Meet at Ski Beach, unload, inflate, decorate, and connect with the crew
6:30 PM: Group launch
After launch: Paddle together into the cove for a floating DJ set from the pontoon boat
After the water set: Return to Ski Beach for DJs, fire spinners, lights, community, and the burn
The exact launch point and any final event updates will be posted in the event discussion.
✨ THEME
Come dressed in your best paddle-safe burner, futuristic, illuminated, desert-punk, neon, metallic, or radically creative gear.
Decorate yourself and your board with battery-powered lights, LEDs, glow accessories, or illuminated art. Please secure everything to your board and avoid loose fabrics, sharp objects, or anything that could become tangled while paddling.
No open flames or personal fire props are permitted on the water.
🏄 WHAT TO BRING
• Paddleboard, kayak, or other appropriate paddle craft
• Paddle and leash
• Personal flotation device
• Whistle
• White light, headlamp, or other visible nighttime lighting
• Battery-powered lights for your board or gear
• Water and any personal snacks
• Warm layer for after sunset
• Dry bag or waterproof phone case
• Your creativity, good energy, and community spirit
⚠️ SAFETY & ETIQUETTE
Please remain with the group and follow the directions of our lead and sweep paddlers. Stay visible, keep a safe distance from the pontoon boat, and be mindful of other vessels and paddlers.
The fire performances and ceremonial burn will take place on land. Please respect all marked boundaries and directions from event organizers and performers. Fire programming may be adjusted based on weather, safety, or site conditions.
No glass. Pack out everything you bring. Leave Ski Beach cleaner than we found it.
