Please join us for a day of celebrating authors in and around Garland County!Keynote Speech by Karen Bryan 10:00-10:45 A.M.
Karen Bryan is the Executive Director of Arkansas Learning Through the Arts and the co-editor of Blackness in Opera, a look at how race and blackness play out in opera, published by the University of Illinois Press.
Local Author Panel | 10:45 A.M.-12:00 P.M.
Each author will have up to three minutes on stage to introduce themselves and talk about their most recent work to a live
audience. This session will also be livestreamed and recorded.
Lunch Break | 12:00-12:45 P.M.
Authors are responsible for their own lunches. There are several
eateries nearby, including a Sonic and several locally-owned
businesses: King Kone (a dairy bar), Cafe 1217 (a classy
counter-serve cafe), and Taco Mama (a Mexican cantina). There
is also a Walmart Neighborhood Market across Malvern Avenue.
Local Author Meet & Greet | 1:00-3:00 P.M.
Authors may network with each other, meet and greet the public,
and sell and sign books. A table and two chairs are provided.
Light refreshments will be served.
Young Writers Showcase | 4:30-5:00 P.M.
Celebrate the winners of the library’s 2024 Fantasy Story Contest. Light refreshments will be served.
