In this course, you'll dive into the rich tradition of Cuban social dance, where we dance in a circle, changing partners with each turn of the call. We'll start with basic steps, familiarizing you with the rhythm and movement unique to Cuban music. Through guided practice, you'll learn key calls and figures, gaining confidence to smoothly transition between partners. The emphasis is on connection, musicality, and enjoying the communal spirit of this vibrant dance form. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and readiness to learn! But if you are an improver/intermediate dancer eager to continue learning more techniques and movements,or learning how to call a Rueda this is a great opportunity!!!

Throughout the course, you’ll learn more intricate moves and transitions, build confidence in leading and following, and work on sync and coordination with your fellow dancers. Each session will include fun and creative combinations that will deepen your understanding of Casino and challenge you to move more fluidly as a group.

Dive into the vibrant world of Rumba Guaguancó! You don’t need a partner to sign up. This open-level class is designed for all dancers, from beginners eager to learn the fundamentals to experienced dancers looking to refine their expression and connection in Cuban rumba. Together, we’ll explore the playful interaction and unique dynamics between the "vacunao" (a flirtatious movement) of the leader dancer and the response of the follower dancer. We'll break down key body movements, footwork, and styling, all while embracing the rhythmic pulse that brings Guaguancó to life. Emphasis will be placed on musicality, individual expression, and the special synergy that makes this dance so joyful and dynamic. Come ready to move, connect, and discover the heart of Guaguancó! For followers is recommended to bring a wide long skirt or a scarf, for the leaders a handkerchief.
