Melbourne’s first eclectic live band returns to Mentone — blending Soul, RnB, Funk, Hip Hop and Poly Reggae into one high-energy show built for good vibes, dancing and a packed room.
Hailing from Melbourne’s South East, The Refugees bring an iconic sound rooted in Reggae, Funk and Soul music, creating a unique live experience that stands out from your standard pub band.
Their sweet melodies, solid grooves and Polynesian influences have seen them share stages with some of New Zealand’s biggest reggae acts including Katchafire, Paua and Sammy Johnson — and you can hear that influence in both their covers and original music.
Assured to have you moving and completely hooked from the first set, this is the kind of Friday night that turns into a late one.
