When she was young, Jemma’s self-esteem was shattered by countless bullies and worse, those she had trusted to protect her. As a result, Jemma struggled with expressing herself in many ways, she couldn’t say the words ‘I love you’, and I refused to sing in front of anyone, ever.
In 2018, Jemma went through the worst anxiety and depression she had ever experienced, caused by being in an extremely unhealthy relationship. But, after hitting what felt like rock bottom, Jemma realised it was finally time to put herself first and start living the life that she wanted. And that’s exactly what she did.
As Jemma’s confidence began to grow, she started to learn two things she had always wanted to do, singing and teaching herself guitar. Four years later, in 2022, she played her first gig. But suddenly, everything had to be put on hold as Jemma, in her mid-twenties, faced a life changing diagnosis, Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
From there, Jemma had to adjust her lifestyle in order to manage the disabling symptoms of MS, but her spirit has been kept high as she continues the battle. MS might slow her down, but she won’t let it stop her from doing what she loves. Jemma is, and always has been, a WARRIOR.
