Vienna conceals a musical treasure that few people are aware of.
In the Betchor of the Franciscan Church lies the oldest organ in Vienna: the magnificent Wöckherl Organ, built in 1642 🎹!!!
✨ This historic gem isn't usually open to the public. With its stunning grisaille paintings, the room is a visual and acoustic masterpiece.
Mr. Johannes Ebenbauer, curator of the organ, organist at the Franciscan Church, and professor of organ and improvisation at the University of Music Vienna, will guide us through this incredible space (in German and English), showing us its inner workings and playing beautiful melodies from the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as providing a look inside this baroque instrument.
