What to Prepare BEFORE the Session
To get the most out of your 60-minute diagnostic please prepare the following in advance. You'll be asked to deliver these scenarios live during the session.
WHAT TO BRING:
Scenario 1: Executive Presence & Vocal Authority
You'll need: A 90-second project update as if addressing the board or team (can be from actual experience or fictional or hybrid)
Prepare one of the following:
- A recent project you're working on that needs stakeholder buy-in
- A quarterly update you've given (or need to give) to leadership
- A pitch for budget approval or resources
- A status update on a major initiative
Think through:
- What's the project/initiative?
- What approval or decision do you need?
- What's the current status?
- What are the next steps?
Tip: If possible use something REAL from your work. The more authentic the better the feedback.
Scenario 2: Storytelling Under Pressure
You'll need: A 90-second persuasion story
Prepare a specific example of when you:
- Convinced a client or stakeholder to change direction
- Persuaded your team to adopt a new approach
- Changed someone's mind about a decision
- Overcame resistance to get buy-in
Your story should include:
What was at stake?
What resistance did you face?
What did YOU specifically do?
What was the outcome?
Tip: Choose a story where YOU were the primary actor (not "the team did"). This helps us assess YOUR communication impact.
