Spend Christmas morning outdoors with East Coast Hikers! Join us for a festive 5.5-mile hike through the beautiful forest trails of Newport News Park. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy fresh air, get some exercise, and celebrate the holiday with friends before spending the rest of the day with family.
🎅🏼 Feel free to wear a Santa hat, ugly Christmas sweater, or your favorite festive hiking gear for our holiday group photo!

🥾 Distance: 5.5 miles
🌲 Terrain: Mostly flat forest trails with a few gentle rolling hills.
🚶 Pace: Casual social pace.
Planned Route
We’ll hike a scenic loop using the White Oak Nature Trail and Wynn’s Mill Loop, passing wooded trails, boardwalks, bridges, cypress swamps, marsh overlooks, and beautiful reservoir views before returning to the Discovery Center.
