Join Edible Streets this Tuesday 10th June for a hands-on workshop and working bee in Ōtautahi Christchurch 🌳
This session combines practical orchard skills with nursery organisation and propagation preparation.
📚 Workshop: Fruit Tree Form Pruning + Scionwood Collection
Learn how to shape and manage productive fruit trees while collecting propagation material for future grafting projects.
We’ll cover:
• Form pruning techniques for young and established fruit trees
• Improving light, airflow, and tree structure
• How and why to collect scionwood in winter
• Selecting healthy wood for future propagation and grafting
🛠️ Working Bee: Nursery Tidy + Potting Area Setup
We’ll be continuing improvements to the Edible Streets nursery area.
This includes:
• Moving pots into the steel apple bins for organisation
• Relocating tables into the new potting area
• Setting up the first stage of a more functional nursery workspace
• General nursery tidy and propagation preparation
No experience needed — just come ready to learn and get hands-on!
