Hi everyone!Do you want to get off to a good start in the garden in spring? Then Garden Association would like to invite you to a nice and engaging activity: pre-sprouting vegetable seeds. 🌱
•What does that mean?
Pre sprouting (or sowing) means planting seeds in small pots or trays, some time before we transplant them in the garden. Why? The little new plants (called seedlings) will have time to grow strong enough for facing the weather outside. Not all vegetables require pre-sprouting. But for many important ones, it is recommended.
•What will you learn?
How to do it, more about why to do it and how to take care of it afterwards.
•How to prepare?
Bring your own vegetable seeds, any kind of pots/containers (just if you have) and a good mood. :)
In March, the next seeds can be pre-sprouted: tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, lettuce, white/red cabbage, cauliflower, kale, celery, leeks.
April will be the time to start for: cucumbers, squash, corn, pumpkins and various herbs. These seeds do not need much time to germinate. So, it is not necessary to begin very early.
P.S. There is gonna be different snacks and sodas. 🧃🍕
