How can you use your own nervous system and brainwiring, to be an authentic player? Being mindful and sensitive about the changes in your body and mind, gives you the best input for scenes without working for it!
? CINDY PITTENS
Cindy Pittens is an improviser from the Netherlands. 43 years old, and officially improvising since 2011. Her two interests in life are human development and improvtheatre. After graduating from Playful Social Work in 2004, she attended 2,5 years of Theatreschooling and another year of Innovative Trainer/coach (2012) . Many intensives and workshops were added to that experience.
In 2016 she started teaching improv and her company CP IMPRO became a priority. A billion teachers later like Keiths Johnstone, Joe Bill, Inbal Lori, Frank Totino, Feña Ortalli and Rama Nicholas, she is a fulltime improvisation teacher/-player in theatre as well as in corporate settings. Last year her international career has taken off. She taught at the Short Notice festival in Oslo. Last summer she attended 2 months of The Improvisation School in Calgary (20 hrs a week with Shawn Kinley) and she was part of Impro-Amsterdam ’24 as a main cast member and teacher.
She loves it when improvisers calm their brains down and play alive and vibrant characters. Stay connected to themselves and eachother, more then being funny or witty. We want to represent life and show true expression of yourself. Humour is where the audience recognizes themselves. Therefore we want to improvise honestly. Next to or just becáuse of the tears and fear, laughter will be playing the lead role automatically.
