This event is designed for students and creatives exploring postgraduate study in art, design, architecture, communication, humanities, and interdisciplinary practice.
Discover how the Royal College of Art supports artists, designers, and researchers within an international and collaborative environment, while gaining insight into life and study in London.
You are invited to meet (Head of Programme - Art & Design Graduate Diploma), (Student Recruitment Manager - Southeast Asia), and RCA alumni ( - Design Practice MArch and - Design Products MA) in Hong Kong for an in-person conversation about the RCA experience.
Whether you are preparing your application, refining your portfolio, simply curious about postgraduate study at the RCA, or getting ready to begin your studies at the RCA, this event offers an opportunity to connect with the RCA community and learn more about creative life at the world’s leading university for art and design.

You don't have to specialise in any discipline to attend this event: we welcome guests planning to apply to all subject areas.
Due to the postgraduate nature of RCA study, all attendees must be over 18.

About the hosts
(Head of Programme - Art & Design Graduate Diploma)
Gary has over 25 years’ experience in the higher education sector, with a specialist focus in international and transnational education.
Gary trained initially as a stone carver at Hereford Cathedral.
A graduate of Fine Art Sculpture from the University for the Creative Arts (1989) and the Royal College of Art (MA Sculpture, 1993; MPhil Sculpture and Animation, 2003). He has and continues to exhibit across the UK, Europe, US and China, from Tate St Ives to The Central Academy of Fine Arts Beijing. He was Henry Moore Foundation Sculpture Fellow at Falmouth College of Arts (1994–96) and awarded a bursary from the Royal Society of British Sculptors in 1996. His recent solo exhibition, Trace Engines, presented new drawings and prints at AIP Gallery Redtory Art Zone, Guangzhou (2015–16), Rochester Art Gallery, Kent (2016–17) and The Brewery Tap, Folkestone Triennial (2017).

About the alumni speakers
(RCA Alumni, Design Practice MArch)
Kailong is a designer based in London and Hong Kong, specializing in spatial and product design. With a background in architecture, his undergraduate training equipped him with a comprehensive foundation in design thinking and technical execution, which he now applies to integrating immersive technologies into spatial practices.
Proficient in 3D modeling, rendering, exhibition design, and industrial prototyping, Kailong combines creativity with pragmatism. He works closely with manufacturers to ensure that his designs are not only conceptually rich but also technically feasible and production-ready.
His design practice actively explores the interplay between digital and physical environments. He is especially drawn to how emerging technologies are reshaping spatial narratives and enabling new forms of interactive user experience. His work seeks to bridge digital innovation with real-world applications, translating abstract concepts into tangible outcomes.
(RCA Alumni, Design Products MA)
Suet Sum Ho (Sam) is a designer from Hong Kong, based in London, focused on inclusive design and emotional wellbeing through everyday objects. Her work aims to reframe how assistive tools are perceived, not just as functional aids but as meaningful companions that reflect dignity, independence, and identity.
Her MA project reimagines the walking stick, often seen as a symbol of decline, into an object of pride and personal expression. Through co-creation with older adults and input from caregivers, she explores how mobility aids can support both physical and emotional wellbeing. The final outcomes include culturally grounded editions from Hong Kong and Ghana, blending local craft and storytelling to transform the walking stick into something familiar, beautiful, and empowering.
