▎展覽說明
一檔透過徵件而來的展覽意味著，在展覽展出之前，藝術家就已經透過紙面，說服場館、觀眾、乃自藝術家自己，願意相信他作為藝術家，能、也能夠，做出一檔好展覽。
本展延伸自王詠翔於今年初的《展間，在此側身》個展，《計畫主題：『展間，成為一種在場』》以「展間側身」為核心概念，將展場內幕後工作者被忽略的勞動姿態，以及發生於銜接「展與展之間」的藝文工作中所顯現的美學可能，以展覽為媒介，再次呈現至觀眾眼前。
而策展人張祖維在本次展覽中的加入，更將原先作為展覽文件格式的《計畫主題：『展間，成為一種在場』》作為展覽名稱，使得展覽在藝術家原有、討論藝術工作的語境之外，更進一步的觀看藝術家、策展人也作為藝術工作者，如何於資本、觀眾、館舍等脈絡間周旋的「展覽之前」。
《計畫主題：『展間，成為一種在場』》將「展覽如何構成」一問延伸，透過藝術家作品、籌備文件、廣告置入、周邊講座、討論活動等多種形式，使作為結果的展覽得以延伸，成為更具多元性與交流可能的藝術事件。

▎About
An exhibition created through an open-call process suggests that, long before the works enter the space, the artist must first persuade—through written documents rather than artworks—the institution, the audience, and even themselves to believe that they, as an artist, are able and qualified to realize a compelling exhibition.
This exhibition continues from Wang Young-Hsiang’s earlier solo show Stepping Aside in the Exhibition Room. In Project Title: “In Between Exhibitions: The Sidestepping Presences”, the core concept of “sidestepping the exhibition space” is expanded. The exhibition brings attention to the often-overlooked labor of behind-the-scenes cultural workers, as well as the aesthetic possibilities that occur in the in-between space—within the work that happens between exhibitions. Through this approach, the exhibition becomes a medium that reintroduces these hidden processes and gestures to the viewer.
With curator Chang Tsu-Wei joining the project, the original proposal format titled Project Title: “Becoming a Presence in the Exhibition Room” is adopted directly as the exhibition title. This shift not only continues the artist’s investigation into artistic labor, but also expands the focus to include the curator as a cultural worker—as both artist and curator navigate the conditions of capital, audiences, and institutional frameworks before the exhibition officially exists.
By extending the question of “How is an exhibition formed?”, Project Title: “Becoming a Presence in the Exhibition Room” includes artworks, planning documents, advertisement placements, public talks, and discursive programming. Through these multiple components, the exhibition is no longer presented solely as a finished outcome, but becomes an ongoing artistic event—one that unfolds through process, negotiation, and shared reflection.
