About this Event

Winter series | Schumann reimagined

For our winter series, we present a musical program of Robert Schumann which follows a theme of childhood memories and the sense of naivety when life was simpler and less burdensome. Two of the works on the program also reimagine how each would sound with added colors, as both the « Six Études en forme de canon » and the «Scènes d’enfants» were composed originally for piano but later reinterpreted for piano trio. In fact, the young French composer Tristan Murail created his “re-reading” of Schumann’s «Scènes d’enfants» in 2019, especially for this group of artists, led by cellist Marie Ythier. The result is a vivid portrayal of the scenes, using the entire modern palette of instrumental techniques, thus multiplying available timbres and the acoustic effects resulting from their combinations.

We are delighted to welcome artists Samuel Bricault on flute, cellist Marie Ythier, and pianist Maroussia Gentet for this charming series. Our Music by the Glass concert series creates a blend of culture and encounters, chamber music and wine tasting, and provides an intimate experience for our guests.
