Earlier this year, we reached out to our beloved community with a bold mission: to help transform Mojos from an iconic gig venue into a vibrant, expanded creative hub, a place open for business day and night. A mission to future-proof Mojos and keep its spirit alive for generations of artists and music lovers to come.
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we’ve already raised $19,314 through our GoFundMe and Mojos Membership Drive. That support has helped us hit the ground running and we’ve already started putting donations to work. But we’re not done yet, there’s still a way to go.
Since launching our campaign we have been blown away by the outpouring of artists generously offering up their time and talents to help keep the spirit of Mojos Alive. So, we got to planning! Enter, VIVA LA MOJOS a 2-day all out party weekender featuring incredible local acts, staff DJs, special guests, and the community that makes Mojos magic. It’s gonna be an absolute belter.
❤️ Your Support Means the World to Us ❤️
We know we sound like a broken record (pun intended), but live music venues everywhere are doing it tough. Rising costs from rent and insurance to production and staffing are putting serious pressure on even the most cherished spots. The delayed fallout from the pandemic, shifts in drinking culture, and changes in how people engage with music are all playing a part.
But here’s what hasn’t changed: the love for live music. Artists still want to play. People still want to gather. That’s why we’re working hard to evolve, not just to survive, but to grow into a space that supports live music while opening up new, exciting ways to engage more of the community.
This isn’t just about renovations. It’s about laying the foundation for a new business model, one that makes Mojos more resilient, more inclusive, and better equipped to support live music for generations to come.
❤️ What exactly are we raising funds for? ❤️
What We Have Achieved So Far:
A record store inside the venue MOJOS VINYL is open for business - supporting local music and vinyl culture
a brand new back bar and expanded the beer garden which is now open during show hours for drinks, hangs, and community - ticket or no ticket
New Tills: Cash is back baby! so we are inclusive of everyone
16 new beer taps have been installed, new fridges and an expanded wine and drinks menu.
Comfy new seating, tables, and heaters so you can hang out in the venue anytime, ticket or no ticket
A relocated and upgraded green room gives artists more comfort while freeing up extra space in the main room for gigs.
Vintage JBL 4344 speakers installed, our shift to analogue sound is a conscious move away from streaming, and a tribute to the music and artists that shape Mojos.
New speakers out front to activate more space, you can now listen to selections from our epic Vinyl collection while soaking up the sun!
A lot of the work is being done in-house by our resident handymen and all-round legends, Tony “Papa” Adams and Paul Malone, who have been hard at it on the tools. Even our production manager Willow has jumped in getting hands-on with some works when needed. It’s been a real team effort, with everyone chipping away to keep things moving.
We’ve also been lucky to receive incredibly generous support from our friends at Bauwerk Paint, who gave the main bar and our brand new vinyl store a stunning fresh coat of paint throughout.
❤️ What we are working towards ❤️
A brand new kitchen, with plans to serve traditional Greek-Cypriot food from day to night.
Ongoing acoustic treatments to reduce noise complaints, allowing us to operate at full capacity and program a wider range of genres without restrictions.
Beer garden upgrades, including a sealed roof over more of the space, making it more usable and comfortable year-round, especially during the wet months.
Upgraded sound, lighting, and streaming equipment to give artists the quality they deserve, reach a broader audience, and inspire more people to support the local scene.
Accessibility improvements, including new ramps and upgraded bathrooms to better serve all patrons.
Re-paving of the alleyway and beer garden entrance to improve access for people with mobility challenges.

Whether you’re grabbing a ticket to Viva La Mojos, donating to our Gofundme, becoming a Mojos Member, dropping by for a drink, digging through records or simply spreading the word every little bit counts. Your support keeps our doors open, our artists on stage, and the music playing loud and proud in Fremantle.
From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for your support.
Long live the home of live and local music.
Long live Mojos ❤️
