✿ツ SLUT ISLAND IN VANCOUVER! ✿ツNow in their 8th year, Slut Island will be hosting its first ever one-off event at Birdhouse in Vancouver, situated on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. This event will be a big warm up for Slut Island’s full festival which takes place this year in Montreal, October 23rd-27th.

Kicking off at 5pm in collaboration with ♡GATEO♡ at the outdoor stage, DJs ★La PosmoBaby, BINKY, Brendocha and local DJ invites Nalgótica, Kachonda★ will be keeping the step count high deep into the sunset which will be headlined by Toronto’s★ Sofia Fly★. Gogo dancers ✿ Dalirious, Pegasus, Cirena, Savina and EDEN ✿ will be keeping up the energy all sunset long.

Once everyone’s gotten their daily dose of Vitamin D in the yard,, the DJs will take over the indoor stage for a roaring line up of musical talent and pole dancers. Experience the sounds of local deck-master ★Adam★, Seattle’s musical pilar ★Succubass★, and the night’s headliner all the way from Madrid, Spain, ★Toccororo★. Pole dancers ✿ Evidence Doll, Jasmine Blue and twirly girlies ✿ will be woo-ing us on stage all night.

This event is being held on the stolen, ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Skxwú7mesh-ulh, and Tsleil-Waututh nations. As we live and organize queer space as settlers on these lands, we have an obligation to continuously work to repair harms perpetrated upon Indigenous communities, presently and historically. Settler colonialism has brought (and continues to bring) untold violence to these lands, via unlawful resource extraction, racism in medical and foster care systems, and the intergenerational trauma of residential schools.

BUDDY SYSTEM:
The Buddy System is a grassroots effort to combat rape culture and enhance the safety of our queer events. CONSENT IS SEXY -- AND MANDATORY! Buddies will be wearing **NEON T-SHIRTS**. Our Buddies are NARCAN trained, and are carrying sealed water bottles, condoms, lube, granola bars, tampons, and more. They will run interference if someone is receiving unwanted attention, can help folks in need find a way home, and generally serve as go-to support people should any problems arise.

ACCESSIBILITY INFO:
Entrance is ground level through double doors with a wheelchair accessible entrance/exit (double doors 70 in. wide, single door is 35 in). There are no stairs or steps throughout the venue. The door to the outdoor patio is 35 inches wide, there is a cord that is ½” off the ground running parallel before the door to the outdoor patio. All washrooms are all genders. The wheelchair accessible washroom’s measurements are as follows: door clearance of 34 inches, sink height is 33 inches, toilet paper is 32 inches from the toilet, paper towel height is 44 inches, and a railing on the right side of the toilet is 31 inches from the ground. The door opens inwards to the washroom, the dimensions of the washroom are 94 inches x 70 inches. Seating available - please feel free to ask security or door staff if you ever require a seat and would like staff assistance in finding a seat.
