(✿)(✿)(✿)(✿)(✿)(✿)(✿)(✿)(✿)(✿)(✿)(✿)(✿)(✿)(✿)(✿)(✿)October brings the return of Japan Fest at NOMA, the annual celebration of Japanese culture featuring live music, food, dancing, fashion shows, guided Japanese art tours, martial arts demonstrations, and more.
The festival starts at 10 a.m. with an energetic performance from Kaminari Taiko drumming ensemble on the steps of the museum. Bring the whole family along and join us!
Japan Fest is organized by NOMA, the Consulate General of Japan in Nashville and the Japan Club in New Orleans.

Cosplay Contest
Sign ups will be in the sculpture gardens at the NOLA Rufflebutt booth before 1:30 PM
Both shows will take place on the front steps of the museum.
Japanese Fashion show will take place at 2:00-2:30 PM
Cosplay contest will take place at : 2:30-3:00 PM

Sign up information : You will need to sign up before the show. Sign up close 45 minutes before the contest. You will be judged by the crowd and judges.
Fashion show and Cosplay Contest Cash prizes donated by the New Orleans museum of art.
We will also have two WasabiCon badges as the main prize. One for the fashion show and one for the cosplay contest.
Sign ups will be held at the festival. Cash prizes for three categories. Adult, Teen, and children. Bonus points for home made costumes. Bought costumes allowed but please state they have been bought.
Children : Ages 1-12
Teens : Ages 13-19
Adults : Ages 19+

COSTUME GUIDELINES
For the safety and comfort of all guests, as well as the artwork at NOMA:
Costume masks that obstruct or cover the wearer’s face are prohibited. Face masks covering the nose and mouth for health reasons are welcomed but not required.
Accessories or toy weapons, such as swords, greater than 2 feet in length are not permitted.
No sharp objects are allowed.
Costume components cannot extend more than 2 feet in length from the body.
Please keep all costumes family friendly.
Other restrictions may apply at NOMA’s discretion. A check room will be available for any items not in compliance. For questions regarding costumes, please comment below Please note that admission is required for fashion show participants.
