In celebration of Dubuque Main Street's Architecture Days, Carnegie-Stout Public Library will show the movie "Safety Last!" on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Aigler Auditorium on the Library's 3rd Floor. Admission to this early afternoon matinee is free, but seating is first come, first served.Starring Harold Lloyd, "Safety Last!" (1923) is a silent comedy film about a department store clerk who scales a city building to impress his fiancée. This iconic movie was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
