(NL) Schntzl maakte oorspronkelijk minimalistische muziek met klassieke en jazzinvloeden, maar heeft ondertussen een lange weg afgelegd. Op hun derde album Holiday (2023) slaat het duo een gedurfde nieuwe weg in, met elementen van jachtige hyperpop en musique concrète. Hendrik Lasure en Casper Van De Velde laten daarbij tot ieders verrassing hun jazzroots achterwege. Hun nieuwe album, dat begin 2026 verschijnt op VIERNULVIER Records, biedt een delicaat evenwicht van rauwe livedrums en hyperdigitale synths en elektronica. Hiermee creëren ze een futuristisch klanklandschap met het gevoel van een transcendente clubervaring. Thematisch en muzikaal blijft schntzl daarbij op zoek gaan naar momenten van pure, kinderlijke eenvoud en geluk.
(EN) Schntzl originally made minimalist music with classical and jazz influences, but has come a long way in the meantime. On their third album Holiday (2023) the pair goes down a daring new path, with elements of frenetic hyperpop and musique concrète. To everyone’s surprise, Hendrik Lasure and Casper Van De Velde thus set aside their jazz roots. Their new album, set to be released in early 2026 on VIERNULVIER Records, offers a delicate balance of raw live drums and hyper-digital synths and electronics. They thus create a futuristic soundscape that evokes the sensation of a transcendent club experience. Thematically and musically, schntzl continues to seek out moments of pure, childlike simplicity and joy.
