Quinton Barnes:
Quinton Barnes is a relentlessly ambitious Montreal-based artist exploring the edges of Canada's music scene. Since 2018, he's built a unique sound, writing, rapping, singing, producing, mixing, and mastering his own work across a prolific discography. His 2020 album AARUPA earned Bandcamp's "Best of Winter" nod, and 2022's For the Love of Drugs garnered an 8/10 from Exclaim. His latest, CODE NOIR, prompted The Quietus to note his adroit incorporation of "pre-millennium-era electronic dance music, R&B, and candy-coated pop," adding, "There is nothing he has attempted to date that he cannot do.”
Joni Void:
Joni Void is the artistic persona of Montréal-based French-British producer Jean Néant (he/them), whose output and various projects showcase their interest in experimentation, improvisation, collaboration and multi-genre explorations - self-described as ‘cinéma-tek/cameratronica’ music.
Their latest album on Constellation Records, Every Life Is A Light, is an emotionally resonant song cycle tinged by downtempo, lo-fi, avant-pop, and trip-hop, that lights a humble flame for the fragile promise of homespun creative collaboration as unalienated labour and therapeutic communion.
