Presented by the University of Southampton Music DepartmentWeaving together only a handful of samples taken from Debussy’s beloved Preludes, this new 45-minute work by UoS Department of Music composer Drew Crawford explores the sonic possibilities of two pianos positioned far apart on stage, from ‘stereo’ movement to quasi-electronic psychoacoustic phenomena and spatialised heterophonic and live ‘delay’ effects.
Immersive, moving and mesmerising, You, Me & Debussy makes virtuosic demands of the performers Valentina Seferinova and Duncan Honeybourne, who will premiere this on the Turner Sims’ beautiful Steinway and Fazioli pianos.
Free - but must have ticket;
Monday 4th November lunchtime concert.
