Experience a performance of captivating choral music as Sonority Choir, one of Sheffield’s finest upper-voice ensembles, presents Fire Flowers: a journey of resilience and renewal. At the heart of the programme is Don Macdonald’s powerful song cycle Fire Flowers. Taking its title from the delicate wildflowers that bloom on forest floors after devastating fires, the work reflects on the extraordinary ways life re‑emerges where hope once seemed impossible. Alongside Fire Flowers, the programme features a beautifully set version of Wendell Berry’s The Peace of Wild Things, as well as works by Reena Esmail, Lydia Samuels, Winnie Brückner, Laura Hawley, and Katerina Gimon.
We’re very much looking forward to returning to Upper Chapel to present Fire Flowers. This is a venue we love performing in, and we invite you to join us for an evocative and immersive concert that draws on the healing power of the natural world—how, in times of overwhelm or uncertainty, we instinctively turn to birdsong, open skies, and quiet forests for comfort and peace.
Performance: 7:30pm - 9:30pm
Tickets: We want to make our concerts as accessible as possible. This concert is Pay What You Feel, with tickets ranging from £5 to £20.
