About this Event

His Excellency Mr Vasyl Myroshnychenko, recently appointed Ambassador to Australia and (Designate) New Zealand, makes one of his first public appearances in this country. The Ambassador will provide the Ukraine Government's latest appraisal of the war and the response of the international community. He will provide views on what the New Zealand Government and broader public can do to help and discuss Ukraine’s bilateral relations with Australia and New Zealand, including military cooperation, trade, investment, culture and education.

Since February, the Russian invasion of Ukraine has brought death, destruction and suffering, causing millions of people to flee their homes. The shockwaves have been felt around the world including in New Zealand, where the Government and broader public has rushed to understand the implications for the international system, and what this country should do in response.
