Join the launching event of screenwriter/film critic Sadia Khalid Reeti’s debut pocket book and script performance.
The book “রীতিবাক্য” contains 99 pieces of thoughts from the author, some lessons she learned in her years on planet earth, plus some introspection and retrospection.
The script “A Birth for a Death” is based on the fabled story of one of Rabindranath Tagore’s most beloved songs. The script will be read/performed by 4 theatre actors: Nusrat Rysa, Irfan Rony, Kaniz Farjana Arefin and Sasha.
The event also includes live acoustic performance of Tagore songs by Farshid Alam.

Time: 6:30- 8pm
Venue: Alliance Francaise de Dhaka, Dhanmondi
Ticket price: 250 taka

About the author:
Sadia Khalid Reeti studied Screenwriting at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and worked in editorial positions at The Daily Star, Dhaka Tribune and Daily Bruin since 2012. She served as a jury member at different international film festivals in Italy, Iran, India, England, Nepal, France, Russia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. She served as a FIPRESCI jury at Cannes Film Festival (2019, 2024), International Film Festival of Kerala (2019), Bengaluru International Film Festival (2023) and Dhaka International Film Festival. She is the first international voter for the Golden Globe Awards from Bangladesh. A Berlinale Talents alumna, she attended mentorship programs with Film Independent and Locarno Open Doors and received the Charles Wallace Fellowship from the British Council. She is the co-convener of the West Meets East Screenplay Lab. She also teaches film studies at the University of Dhaka. She is currently serving on the National Film Advisory Committee of Bangladesh and is Vice President of IFCAB (International Film Critics Association of Bangladesh).
