Every year, Bangladesh Cultural Society, KWC (BCSKWC) Inc. celebrates the beginning of Bengali New Year here in the Region of Waterloo with a grand festival of cultural programs and a fair that showcases traditional items and food. This is being attended by a large section of Bengali speaking people living in this region. This is the 11th year anniversary of Bangladesh Cultural Society in Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge. So this year we will gather again and will cheer up for the festival of Bengali New Year. As usual, there will be cultural programs and a fair. No matter whether you speak Bengali, this festival will never cease to entertain and welcome you!𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲: June 08, Saturday

About Pohela Boishakh:
Bengali New Year (Noboborsho) or Pohela Boishakh is the first day of the Bengali calendar, celebrated in both Bangladesh and West Bengal, and in other Bengali communities in Assam and Tripura. Pohela Boishakh connects all ethnic Bengalis irrespective of religious and regional differences. In Bangladesh, it is celebrated on April 14. It also coincides with New Years in many other calendars, including those of South India (Kerala, Tamil Nadu), Sri Lanka, Nepal, Eastern India (Assam, Manipur, Orissa), and Southeast Asia (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand).
