Dear AMAI Members 

Ganpati Bappa Moraya!

It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that having successfully completed the great responsibility of writing the unbroken Mahabharata as entrusted by Ved Vyas our beloved Bappa will be visiting us for a day of rest and relaxation.

His divine arrival has been confirmed for September 6ᵗʰ at exactly 9:00 AM and we are deeply honoured to host Him in our humble abode for the entire day. This marks a truly joyous and sacred occasion for all of us one filled with devotion celebration and spiritual upliftment.

We shall welcome Shri Ganapati Bappa with the vibrant and auspicious sounds of dhol-tasha and the spirited rhythm of lezim expressing our devotion through music dance and heartfelt enthusiasm. With utmost humility and reverence we will invite Him to grace the specially adorned sinhasan (throne) lovingly prepared for His arrival.

Following this his devotees will present their talents at his feet honoring him as the deity of 64 arts and seeking to win his divine favor. A lovingly prepared maha-naivedya will be offered to the Lord and the sanctified prasad shall be shared with all devotees present as a symbol of His grace and divine presence among us.

Finally amidst the beats of dhol-tasha we will bid farewell to Bappa extending a warm invitation for him to return again next year.

As part of the 30ᵗʰ Anniversary celebrations of the Auckland Marathi Association

this year we are thrilled to present a very special Ganesh procession for “Auckland cha Raja”!

While the Dhol Tasha will continue to energize us as always

for the first time ever “Auckland cha Raja” will be seated in a beautifully flower-decorated vehicle — just like the traditional processions back in India.

We warmly invite everyone to come and be part of this emotional and historic celebration!

This September join us to participate and experience Ganesh Utsav in Auckland on 6th September 2025.

Sustainability Initiative

Starting this year AMAI will be using biodegradable plates glasses and cutlery at all events.

It’s a small step toward reducing our environmental impact and we appreciate your support in this effort.

We are accepting donations for this event. Voluntary donations play an important role towards the expenditure of the celebration. Along with other resources financial support plays a major part towards the success of any event.

These donations will be utilised towards Pooja Prasad and Prasad-Lunch after he event. We earnestly appeal you to donate us using the bank details on our website. We will also accept donations when you come to the premises for the Darshan of Ganpati Bappa!
