Την Κυριακή (13/4) υποδεχόμαστε αυτοπροσώπως, από την μακρινή Αυστραλία τον Richard Tuohy και την Dianna Barrie, μ' ένα μονόωρο πρόγραμμα 5 ταινιών που διατρέχει μεγάλο μέρος της φιλμογραφίας τους από το 2016 ως σήμερα. Ιδρυτές του nanolab, ένα από τα πιο δραστήρια εργαστήρια φιλμ (8mm και 16mm) στον κόσμο. Με τις δικές τους ταινίες να εξερευνούν διαρκώς το μέσο. Με κάθε λογής πειραματισμούς που αναδεικνύουν τις δυνατότητες της κάμερας, με ανήσυχη εργασία στα χημικά και την εμφάνιση οι οποίοι δίνουν διαφορετικές υφές στις εικόνες. Ο ήχος στις ταινίες τους και υποβάλει και συνοδεύει. Η χρήση της οπτικής λούπας είναι εκτεταμένη, και το αίσθημα του αναπόδραστου που επιφέρει είναι αναπόφευκτο. Η καταγραφή εκτυφλωτικών blinks του φωτός και οι κινήσεις της κάμερας μπρος και πίσω στο θέμα, μέσα σε επιλεγμένα περιβάλλοντα, είναι στοιχεία που υποδηλώνουν περισσότερο το πέρασμα του χρόνου και τα σημεία στίξης του, παρά του χώρου. Θα 'χουμε τη χαρά να υποδεχτούμε την Dianna και τον Richard και να μας μιλήσουν για την δουλειά τους. Η προβολή -κατ' εξαίρεση όσον αφορά τις προβολές τους- θα γίνει ψηφιακά. Εκτός αν μέχρι τελευταία στιγμή καταφέρουμε να βρούμε μια μηχανή προβολής 16mm.
Πριν απ' αυτό όμως, θα σας παρουσιάσουμε ένα μονόωρο πρόγραμμα που θα αποτελείται με επιμέρους αφιερωματάκια σε αγαπημένους δημιουργούς. Δεν πάνε περισσότερα από 2 χρόνια από τότε που είχαμε την χαρά να φιλοξενούμε την Dagie Brundert με τα υπέροχα φιλμάκια της και τις υπέροχες αλχημικές συνταγές εμφάνισης με καφενόλη. Όσο βρισκόταν στην Ελλάδα γύρισε το φιλμ Μακρυά, το οποίο και θα προβάλουμε μαζί με άλλες 3 σύντομες ταινίες που έκανε ή εμφάνισε πρόσφατα. Θα δούμε επίσης δύο ταινίες της αγαπημένης Melody Woodnutt, η οποία φτιάχνει ταινίες σχεδόν εξωκοσμικής εμπειρίας. Για τη μεταφοορά αυτή μένει συγκεντρωμένη στην ανάμειξη ήχων και εικονών που ανακαλούν βαθιές συναισθηματικές εμπειρίες μ' έναν δυναμικό τρόπο για την καθεμιά και τον καθένα. Θα δούμε επίσης 2 ταινίες του Simon Liu, που με τα ταχύτατα κατς και τις επαναλαμβανόμενες λήψεις αφήνουν τον κόσμο σε κάτι που μοιάζει με κοσμική σκόνη. Τέλος, θα μπούμε για πρώτη φορά, μέσα από 7 σύντομες ταινίες/βίντεο, στον κόσμο που ακούει στο όνομα Iokasti Mantzog. 'Οπου με δομικά συστατικά το σώμα, τον διαισθητικό αυτοσχεδιασμό αλλά και τον επιτελεστικό μυστικισμό, χορογραφούνται μεσότοποι επιθετικοί ή αναιρετικοί ως προς τις παραδοσιακά κυρίαρχες αντιλήψεις.
Ο τόπος συνάντησής μας παραμένει πλησίον του Ιλισσού. Αυτή τη φορά κάτω από τη γέφυρα του Όθωνα και πλάι από την εκκλησία της Αγίας Φωτεινής, ή Αγίας Φωφώς όπως την λένε οι θαμώνες.

On Sunday (13/4) we welcome Richard Tuohy and Dianna Barrie, in person, from far away Australia, with a one-hour program of 5 films that spans a large part of their filmography from 2016 to today. Founders of nanolab, one of the most active film (8mm and 16mm) labs in the world. With their own films they are constantly exploring the medium. With all kinds of experimentation that highlight the possibilities of the camera, with restless work on chemicals and development that give different textures to the images. The sound in their films both submits and accompanies. The use of visual loops is extensive, and the sense of inevitability it brings is unavoidable. The recording of blinding blinks of light and camera movements back and forth across the subject, within selected environments, are elements that suggest the passage of time and its punctuation points rather than space. We'll have the pleasure of welcoming Dianna and Richard to talk to us about their work. The screening - with the exception of their screenings - will be digital. Unless we manage to find a 16mm projectior by the last minute.

But before that, we will present you a one-hour programme consisting of individual tributes to favourite creators. It hasn't been more than 2 years since we had the pleasure of hosting Dagie Brundert with her fabulous films and wonderful alchemical caffenol development recipes. While she was in Greece she shot the film Makria, which we will screen along with 3 other short films she made or developed recently. We will also see two films by the beloved Melody Woodnutt, who makes films of almost exotic experience. For this transfer she stays focused on blending sounds and images that evoke deep emotional experiences in a powerful way for each and every one. We will also see 2 films by Simon Liu, whose rapid-fire crashes and repeated takes leave the world in what looks like cosmic dust. Finally, we will enter the world of Iokasti Mantzog for the first time, through 7 short films/videos. Where with structural components of the body, intuitive improvisation and performative mysticism, mesoscapes are choreographed that are aggressive or subversive to traditionally dominant notions.
Our meeting place remains near the Ilisos river. This time under the bridge of Othonas and next to the church of Agia Fotini, or Agia Fofos as the locals call it.
