FokiaNou Art Space presents the group exhibition “Fault Lines”, organized following an open call to artists issued by Panagiotis Voulgaris and Mary Cox, who also curated the exhibition.
Beneath every surface, a fault line may lie. Sometimes visible and sometimes unseen, it shapes the terrain we inhabit, the cities we build, and the relationships we forge. These ruptures cut across geographies, societies, and bodies, emerging through conflicts, displacements, losses, changes, and transformations, leaving behind traces that influence how we perceive the world.
The exhibition “Fault Lines” explores these visible and invisible forces through works employing diverse approaches, media, and techniques. The participating artists address the theme through painting, collage, sculpture, works on paper, photography, and video, shedding light on the multiple facets of the concept of the "fault line" or rupture.
From geological and physical fissures, social and political divisions, borders and migrations, to personal relationships, memory and trauma, the climate crisis, urban space, economic inequality, identity, and technology, the works in the exhibition raise issues, pose questions, and explore the fault lines shaping our era.
