Have you ever wondered why the Mississippi River is like it is today? What was it like centuries ago and what it will be like in future decades? Local writer John Weiss has been observing our big river for decades from Charity Bluff at Latsch State Park. He'll share his photos and talk about what he's learned about the Mississippi's past, present and future from his perch atop one blufftop between Wabasha and Winona.
John Weiss was a full-time reporter for the Rochester Post-Bulletin for 41 years, an outdoors writer for nearly 50 years and wrote the Back Roads column for more than 10 years. His passions include hunting, fishing, birding, nature photography, hiking and just kicking around.
