Zumba with Pawel in Darlinghurst
About this Event
If you're after a workout that feels like a night out (minus the 2am kebab), you're in the right place. This is a welcoming, queer-friendly, judgement-free Zumba class where you can show up as you are, move how you can, and leave feeling lighter.
Zumba is a dance-fitness program that feels like a party but works your whole body. We use simple, repeatable choreography set to energising music, so you get a cardio workout without staring at a clock. No dance experience needed. If you can move and follow along, you can do Zumba.
This is the longest and liveliest session on the schedule. We've got the big upstairs room, around 70 minutes of music, and two water breaks to keep you going. If you want the full experience, this is the one.
---
What to expect
This class is about 70 minutes (booked as a 90 minute slot) with two water breaks.
The vibe
All-levels friendly and judgement-free, with options to reduce impact (no jumping), slow it down, or take a pause whenever you need. Expect Latin rhythms, pop, and throwback bangers, with a little queer joy on top (sparkles optional, good vibes strongly recommended).
First-time tips
Arrive a little early and pick a spot where you can see me. If you miss a move, keep stepping to the beat and jump back in. Here's the secret: the front row isn't the easiest spot when you're new, a little further back lets you follow the people in front and skip the mirror confusion. Breaks allowed, dramatic hair flicks encouraged.

Venue
We dance at the East Sydney Community and Arts Centre, operated by BrandX. We share the space with other performers who rehearse dance, music, and other art.
This class uses the big room on the upper floor, which comfortably holds up to 50 people, so there's plenty of room to move.
Address: 40 Burton Street, Darlinghurst NSW 2010 (corner of Burton St and Palmer St)

Getting there and parking
We're just behind Oxford Street on the corner of Burton St and Palmer St (yes, the one that ends with "Palms"). It's a few minutes' walk from buses running along Oxford Street.
If you're driving, street parking in Darlinghurst is possible, but it can be limited or time-restricted. Give yourself a little extra time to find a spot.

Arrival and building access
Our Zumba gang usually arrives around 15 minutes before class. Look for a cheerful group outside the building, or upstairs if the doors are already open (if you hear happy chaos, you're probably in the right place).
If you're running late, no stress. Come through the glass door and slip in, then join when you're ready, just be mindful of classmates moving around.

Booking and tickets
No membership, no lock-in. Grab a ticket here and come dance. New to Zumba? Use "NEW50" code to get first class half-price.
Come often? Talk to me after class. My class packs work out cheaper than drop-in rates, and they cover every class I run. No pressure, whenever you're ready.
