Get ready for another season of ZOUK MIRAGE!🔥👑👑 SEASON 2 👑👑🔥
🌺 Facilitated by Deenie Tusalem, this follow’s performance/competition team will focus on solo technique and style to level up their dancing while learning a full intermediate/advanced-level choreography to a song. Follows will have the opportunity to perform the choreography at local events and a goal to compete at the Brazilian Zouk World Championships in August!
🥈 Season 1 had an incredible year in 2024 taking 2nd place at the Brazilian Zouk World Championships, performing at several local events, and performing at San Diego Zouk’s biggest weekender event! We are looking forward to an even better year with a much more challenging choreography, more opportunities to perform, a professional video, and of course, the opportunity to compete.

RECCOMENDED PREREQUISITES:
As this is an intermediate/advanced level choreography, you must:
✅ Be a current Level 2 student *OR*
✅ Have at least 2 years of consistent Brazilian Zouk training
✅ Have an 8-month commitment to the season
However, if you want to join the Team but don’t believe you qualify due to the above, please reach out to Deenie.

▶️ The Open Call is a chance for everyone to try out a piece of the choreography and decide to join the Team or not.
▶️ Everyone MUST attend the Open Call before joining the Team (including Season 1 peeps who plan on continuing).
▶️ Team expectations and guidelines will be covered as well.

Season ends on Tuesday, September 30th, 2025 (8-month cycle)

❌**Please NOTE: Class will be cancelled on Tuesday, April 15th due to BRIC.**❌
💵 Team Fees: $450 due on Tuesday, February 4th. (No monthly payments and does not include Costume Fees)

➡️ Brazilian Zouk World Championships is on August 14th – 17th, 2025
➡️ We will no longer have the option to drop-in. Once the team officially begins on February 4th, the signup sheet will be closed and it will not be open to the public.
➡️ Everyone in the team will have the opportunity to perform, *however* auditions will be held in June/July for those who wish to compete at the Brazilian Zouk World Championships in August.
➡️ Not interested in performing but still want to learn the choreography? NO PROBLEM! And absolutely no pressure. You can still be part of the team, but please let us know in advance if you have no interest in performing so we can take you off formation.

👑 DEENIE BIO: 👑
Deenie was one of the prime founding members and instructors of Zouk Phoenix, Zouk Oasis, and is currently the director of Zouk Mirage Follows Team. She has been dancing and training since 2004 bringing a diverse background of competitive Ballroom/Latin, Brazilian Samba (Samba No Pe), Salsa and Bachata. After discovering and falling in love with Brazilian Zouk in 2013, she has since been certified by the Brazilian Zouk Dance Council, completed countless hours of professional and teacher training under world-renowned instructors, taught at local and national events, and received top placements in several competitions. Deenie continues to train as a dancer and teacher and is always looking for ways to improve her skills and creativity so that she can share her knowledge to her community. Deenie’s passion and love for this dance has left a mark in the Phoenix community and brings incomparable energy and flavor to her classes, socials, and events.
