Zoo Lights- Anchorage

Zoo Lights is the Alaska Zoo's annual community light festival spread across the 30 acres of maintained zoo trails. We are proud to keep the lights on through sponsorships by ConocoPhillips Alaska, GCI and Morgan Stanley (The Denali Group). Visitors from across Alaska and around the world visit Zoo Lights. Local families make it a holiday tradition to visit with loved ones and guests. Displays include custom animated lights, trailside lights, overhead canopies and a polar bear bench for perfect photo opportunities.

Open Zoo Lights Dates and Times:

Opening: Nov. 28 (Black Friday), 5-8pm

Nov. 28-20, Dec. 5-7, Dec. 12-14, 5-8pm

Nightly Dec. 19, 2025 - Jan. 4, 2026, 5-8pm

No Zoo Lights Dec. 25 (closed Christmas Day)

Feb. 13-15 (Valentine Weekend), 5-8pm

Mar. 6-15 (ASD Spring Break plus weekends), 7-9:30pm

Regular Season Prices

$25/person ages 3+. Ages 2 and under FREE.

Zoo members receive $10 off per ticket for ages 3+ when logged into their membership account during the purchase online. Members may also check in at the gate with their membership and have the discount applied there.

For members: Log into your zoo membership account. Be sure you have a current membership. Add Zoo Lights tickets to your cart for checkout. Select your date and time (we will honor your tickets for one use on any date and time during this Zoo Lights season if you can't make it when you choose). When you go to checkout, you will see that the discount is applied in the final steps of checkout.

Date and time: Although you are required to select a date and time in checkout, we will honor your Zoo Lights tickets for one use during any open period during the 2025/2026 Zoo Lights season. There is no need to transfer dates or times for unused tickets.

The Kape Espresso Tayo Coffee Shop will be closed Saturday evenings during Zoo Lights, and Tuesday evenings over Winter Break due to previous commitments. We will offer a warming area in the Discovery Center on these evenings over Winter Break, with details coming soon. You are welcome to bring warm drinks of your own on your zoo visit.
