Combining principals of Brazilian Zouk, Yoga and Thai Massage
consent, universal partner dance principles, yoga, connection, rhythm training, platonic tantra and DIY reiki, healing touch, Brazilian zouk basics, technique, guided partner meditation, music choice and more!
Guidelines: YOU DO NOT NEED A PARTNER TO ATTEND. We will be rotating partners. There is no gender considered. Platonic intimacy is encouraged: sexualizing partner dance is prohibited and attending for dating purposes is discouraged. Everyone leads and follows, your “no” is always accepted, and learning is the focus. No rhythm? No problem.
Bring: wool socks, extra socks, two extra shirts, towel, water, mints (not gum), solid deodorant, femme products, hair band, wipes or antibacterial gel if desired
Connection Dance is an all genre Universal Partner Dance Training that focuses on body awareness, mindfulness and spiritual development. If you have never partner danced, but really love watching it or talk about it a lot, the vision I have is to make partner dance fun first, so that you can choose your adventure of how you want to journey.
All Class sessions will include:
• Consent, Hygiene/prep, Acceptance culture, Histories of the Dances
•yogic principles and practices in the dance throughout the sessions
•connection and breathing into the dance throughout each session
• universal principles of partner dance that any level of dancer can train with
• Learn the basics of zouk: this takes 4 weeks at least
which includes basic in place, walking basic, small turn, lateral, simple turn, yo-yo, and bonus.
• Have a master social workshop at the end of the 4 week sessions to display what we learned.
Classes are nonrefundable unless canceled by instructor.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class start time.
All Sales are Final.
Individual Sessions are $20
The entire four (4) week Series is $70
All levels welcome.
