An Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient (2020) and winner of the International Tchaikovsky Competition Cello Division (2019), Zlatomir Fung joins pianist Mishka Rushdie Momen, the Times Arts critics’ chosen nominee in the field of classical music for their 2021 Breakthrough Award, for their Orange County debut.
The first American in four decades and youngest musician ever to win First Prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition Cello Division (2019), Zlatomir Fung has already proven himself to be a star among the next generation of world-class musicians. Of Bulgarian-Chinese heritage, Zlatomir Fung began playing cello at age three. Fung currently studies at The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Richard Aaron and Timothy Eddy.
The Times Arts critics’ chosen nominee in the field of classical music for their 2021 Breakthrough Award, Mishka Rushdie Momen appears in recitals and concerto performances worldwide. In November 2014 Mishka Rushdie Momen was unanimously voted the 1st Prize winner of the Dudley International Piano Competition. In September the same year she won 2nd Prize at the Cologne International Piano Competition.
