About this Event
Join local artist Jesse Haley for a zany zine-making afternoon! You will learn how to illustrate, collage, and construct zines about your own relationship to transit in the Boston area. You will have the opportunity to contribute your finished zine to our Transportation Zine Library, or take it home with you and distribute copies to your community!
No previous experience required. Just bring a positive attitude and hands ready to craft
Jesse Haley is a local illustrator and designer featured in retailers across Boston and Cambridge including Brookline Booksmith, MIT Museum Store, and Magpie in Somerville. He specializes in playful doodles, often riffing off of Boston area landmarks such as the Citgo sign.

After a successful run in Allston, The Shiny Shop is back - popping up at the Harvard Smith Campus Center starting Wednesday, September 9! The Shiny Shop is a free 6-week pop-up art experience focused on safety, community care, and transportation, brought to you by Alex Makes Art.
We believe fostering community is key to safety – what better way than crafting shoulder to shoulder? Browse our zine library, bedazzle accessories, make your helmet, bike, or scooter shine, and learn a new skill at The Shiny Shop this fall.
Open to all ages and abilities, this community crafting hub will be open for drop in visits from September 9 to October 15 on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, The Shiny Shop is located at the Dunster Street side of the Smith Campus Center in Harvard Square, steps from the main MBTA stop.
