Crafting session for Disabled people to create Zines and shape our work about Disabled people's access to relationships in their homes.
About this Event

The Manchester Disability Collaborative (Breakthrough UK) is working on making Manchester better for Disabled people who live and work here.

Disabled people have told us that they do not have equal access to relationships and pet ownership when they live in supported accommodation.

To do something about this, our Housing workstream is running a Zine Making workshop in the library where we will all make something that shares our feelings or experiences about our home, and the relationships we have in it.

People's experiences will go into resources and conversations with housing providers to make change. We will be having a roundtable and possibly developing a short film, and would love participants to be involved.

The focus of this event is about relationships, and the topics discussed might be sensitive. We want to make sure that everybody feels comfortable and only shares what they feel safe to share.

This session will take place in the Performance Space in Manchester Central Library. There are accessible toilets, and a changing places toilet in the town hall extension next door. Please feel free to bring a companion or carer with you, and let us know if you have any access needs we can support with.
