About this Event

What to expect

Join artist Jess Wilson-Leigh for a relaxed workshop on the art of zine making at Envirolution Festival in Seaton Park on Saturday 5th September.

The workshop will begin with a short introduction to the history of zine-making, different ways they are produced and can be made, and sharing some examples of zines that you can flick through for inspiration.

Jess will introduce simple zine-making techniques and provide a range of materials and creative prompts to help you explore ideas through collage, drawing, and writing. This workshop is inspired by the central themes of gardening, music, climate, and community. Jess will be available throughout to answer questions, chat, and provide ideas where needed.

No preparation or experience is required. All materials will be provided.

About Us

We’re CFINE (Community Food Initiatives North East) a local food charity who, among other things, loves to provide opportunities for people to connect with each other and nature through gardening and creativity!

We delivered Music in the Gardens throughout the summer of 2026, and are holding the project’s Finale production at the Envirolution Festival on 5th September 2026. The Finale production includes facilitating a programme of musical performances on the Garden Village stage at the Festival, and this zine-making workshop which reflects on the themes of our project.
