About this Event
Join us for a FREE, Zine Making Workshop at the Pittsburgh Center For Creative Reuse!
Join us for an introductory, free-for-all zine-making space, whether this is your first zine or 100th! A zine is a DIY, cheaply-made and widely-distributed booklet, which can contain any subject from your political opinions, to how-to instructions, to poetry, to a story you just made up! Learn how to fold different booklets, peruse magazines and scrapbook materials, and have a dedicated time to create whatever you please!
Creative Reuse is a supportive space, open to folks with any level of artistic ability. Our goal is to foster expression and creative community, not perfection. Just bring an open mind– we’ll cover the rest.
This workshop is a part of our Guest Teaching Artist workshop series! On the second sunday of each month we bring in a local artist to host a workshop sharing their specialty. This months' Guest TA is HJ (they/them). Here's a bit about them!
"My name is HJ Taylor, my social media handles are @hjtart (they/them). I am a comix artist and illustrator based in Pittsburgh; I have a love of collage that I exemplify in my zines. My art is inspired by anything ranging from old cartoons to classical music to vintage fashion!"
