Zine Making Workshop

In this hands-on workshop at the cozy Friends & Family in Portland where you’ll learn the basics of creating your very own self-published, handmade book that tells your personal story. Zines are small, affordable publications made with love and creativity, offering an intimate way to share your thoughts, ideas, and experiences.

Whether you want to share personal narratives, creative writing, art, or something totally unique, we’ll guide you through the process of designing and folding your zine while using simple materials. You don’t need to be a professional artist or writer—just bring your ideas and your passion! The theme for this workshop is "Friends and Family." Open to interpretation!

Sip on some wine at Friends & Family while connecting with fellow zine enthusiasts and meet local makers in your community. This is the perfect space to share ideas, get inspired, and bond over the love of self-publishing and personal storytelling.

All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring any personal items (like photos, drawings, or writings) you’d like to include. No experience necessary—just a desire to create something personal and unique!
