ZENMONKEY – A Yoga for Dancers Workshop is an exciting, upbeat, educational exploration of the modern and traditional dance forms of Latin social dancing (ie. Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cha-cha) combined with a Vinyasa style yoga created specifically for dancers to improve their strength, joint mobility, and flexibility.
Students first get 15mins to practice fundamental techniques on how to properly move their bodies to specific genres of Latin music. During this time, they will also learn about social dance etiquette and a short dance piece that they can practice on their own or with a partner after the workshop. The remaining 45mins are focused on a structured, upbeat, interactive Vinyasa style yoga class (includes Latin music and optional adjustments).
