Develop Your Capacity for Compassionate Action in Turbulent TimesFree Public Workshop with Rev. Jay Rinsen Weik
Saturday, October 26, 2:30-5pm @ the Buddhist Temple of Toledo
While the political and social turbulence of today may feel unprecedented, these challenges are not new. Throughout history, people have turned to ancient wisdom to guide them through difficult times. Zen Buddhist teachings offer practical tools to cultivate resilience and deepen our capacity for compassionate action amidst the storms of life.
When you want to see change in the world, where do you begin? With so many pressing issues and calls to action, it's easy to feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or burned out. Whether you're an activist, ally, leader, or simply trying to navigate the intensity of the election season, Zen practice offers a grounding practice that can help you stay engaged without losing your balance.
“Come, let us develop our capacity for compassionate action together,” invites Reverend Rinsen Roshi.
This workshop will combine lecture-style teachings with interactive, hands-on training in mindfulness. You’ll also have the chance to meet and connect with others who share a commitment to creating a more compassionate world.
