About this Event
Hello [Organization recipient],
This is an invitation to an Autonomous Community gathering :
April 18th 9AM-6PM – at
‘The Studios at Mesa City Center’ – 59 E. 1st St. Mesa, AZ 85201
Through @funnerproductions (via Instagram) and my sole-proprietorship ‘Third Element Creative Engineering’ – we are gathering a ‘free-market’, Zapatista based community. Myself, Jacob Bush, as the insured party, and Site Coordinator/Communicator - ensuring responsibility and respectability between 'The Studios' representatives and the attending organizations during our communal time at 'The Studios'.
‘The Studios at Mesa City Center’ is an ASU affiliate community workspace located in Downtown Mesa (directly across from the Main Public LIbrary). They are focused on entrepreneurial stewardship with localized communities, especially with supporting the arts. They also provide a ‘free-to-use’ public workspace with computers, outlets, and private spaces for community members to utilize via akin to an office. You are welcome to attend to build, connect and revolutionize alongside your compatriots.
This is a gathering of Entrepreneurial community members and artists crafting this time and space for a provision of shared services, art, and mutual aid opportunities in the practice of resource-sharing in-and-for community. No money shall be directly transferred between any participating members or organizations.Autonomous Exchange – Building an Economy Beyond Capitalism
Alongside workshops and discussions, we will be hosting an Autonomous Exchange, where participants will engage in barter, gift-based trade, and collective resource-sharing to foster an economy beyond corporate extraction. This system encourages participation from all economic backgrounds and ensures that everyone, regardless of financial means, can take part.
How It Works:
- Participants receive starter tokens that allow them to engage in trade and barter.
- Vendors and organizers accept tokens, direct trades, or offer goods/services through market quests (e.g., skill-sharing, collaborative work).
- A Commons Exchange table will be set up for open contributions, allowing surplus resources to flow back into the community.
If you or your collective would like to participate in the Autonomous Exchange, we encourage you to let us know ahead of time so we can integrate your offerings into the system and ensure smooth circulation of resources.
(Possible) Activities would include networking and presentations of :
Arts Workshops
Storytelling Workshops
Elder and Leadership communications
Mutual Aid support
On-Site Well-Being and Support via - Healers and Support Specialists
As well as - other presently unknown or unexpected community services ie : gardening, natural products, jewelry, communications, LGBTQ+ aid and support, social-political management etc. I would anticipate most organizations to fall under the umbrella of social communication, skills, and workshops to uplift the essence of community for the present-shifting experience in what community represents. Guided by an existing exchange of free-to-give skill sets.
Questions, concerns, offerings; or if you would know of other organizations that would like to attend in this autonomous community project :
