After several cancellations and postponements due to COVID, we are very excited to announce the debut of new Polish folk and klezmer band “Krakerjack!” on Friday 29 July 2022.Formed last year by well-known Wellington musician and Association member Andrzej Nowicki, the new kapela brings together the talents of a variety of local artists. Violin, accordion, clarinet, double bass, percussion and vocals combine to bring audiences a variety of songs and energetic instrumentals spanning the breadth of Poland. In the words of Nowicki, “everything from Góralski to Klezmer arrangements.”
Now Krakerjack! is joining forces with the Association to bring you a night of entertainment for the benefit of Ukranian refugees in Poland.
More than a concert, the aptly named “Zabawa” will be a party in the best Polish tradition: an evening packed with music, dance, food and drink. Popular local Balkan band “Mehana” will open for Krakerjack!. Orzeł Dance Group will also perform.
Tickets include traditional food, and the cash bar will carry a range of drinks including Polish beers and vodkas.

Profits go to the support of Ukrainian refugees.
