Fri Feb 11 2022 at 08:30 pm to Fri Feb 18 2022 at 08:45 am
Dubai Airport Terminal 2 | Dubai, DU
AdvertisementNestled in the Tien-Shan mountains of Kyrgyzstan with slopes from[masked] meters above sea level and views of white-capped peaks and majestic coniferous forests below lies the best ski resort in all Central Asia! The mild climate from the ice-free Lake Issyk-Kul makes for easy temperatures during the day, so you can sunbathe while you ski and spend the night in cosy heated yurts under starry skies!
With 4 different ski lifts serving 20 kilometres of slopes from beginner to expert, a single day exploring the mountains by ski or snowboard is not enough. During Soviet times the mountain was used as a training base for Olympic athletes, with challenging off-piste runs going as high as 3450 meters, making it the highest ski resort in Central Asia. There is ample opportunity to refresh your skills on the beginner slopes with help from instructors or take your skiing to the next adrenaline level with 8km of expert runs.
From Bishkek to Karakol and all the way up the Tien-Shan mountains, the picturesque Lake Issyk-Kul will always be visible. Even though it’s surrounded by snow-capped peaks, it never freezes in the wintertime, which is why the climate remains so mild, with temperatures rarely dropping below -5C. The second largest mountain-lake in the world is dotted along the edge with ancient sandstone petroglyphs, 10th Century minarets and Turkic stone statues, and plenty of yurts camps too!
