BEHOLD THE BEAUTY AND PAGEANTRY THAT IS JULEFEST!This Scandinavian festival honors the Miracle of the Santa Lucia, as well as the Winter Solstice. At sunset, Viking warriors row the Santa Lucia to shore, then escort her to the site of the Julefest Bonfire. There she is met by a solemn procession of Vikings, draped in their finest garb, and adorned with hundreds of bells, carrying torches to light their way to the Santa Lucia. After the Julefest Proclamation is read by the Viking Scald, or Storyteller, then Santa Lucia puts her torch to the Julefest Bonfire, symbolizing the return of the sun’s light.
