Join us for a magical evening in the woods at Padworth, YMCA!

Experience a step back in time to honour Yule, and pause to ask yourself what this time of year means to you. A chance to slow down and be truly you for the evening, away from the noise and pressure of the festive season.

With soothing meditation and shamanic journeying in the cosy cabin, and a hot drink around the bonfire (if it stays dry), Yule Magic in the Woods is a way to recharge yourself before the onslaught of visitors and commitments over Christmas week, through stillness and soothing.

Yule at the Winter Solstice is the festival of the light returning after the longest night, and the standing still of the sun, as there appears to be 3 days of intense darkness before the light slowly returns.

This is a time for reflecting and slowing down, yet our Christmas festivities tend to make us rush into busyness rather than reclaiming some of the simple, quiet wonder available if we pause to appreciate the gifts of the cold and dark.

This is an extra dark Yule, with the new moon falling on the 20th. The new moon in hopeful Sagitarrius reminds us to honour all that we have completed and release the ties to unhelpful situations before casting our wishes under the optimism of the a new lunar cycle, opening the possibilities for a fresh and positive start to the month ahead.

7.00 Evening commences with soothing meditation and reflections in the cosy cabin, honouring and calling in the elements and directions in the Celtic tradition

8.00 Gather by the bonfire (or inside if too wet) with extra hot drinks and tasty treats (vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options provided)

1. Is there parking - yes there is parking, and although up a woodland path, it's a hard surface in the woods, even when the rain has been heavy
