Seventeen years after her sensational Hong Kong debut with Premiere Performances in 2009, piano powerhouse Yuja Wang makes a triumphant return to our stage for the 20th Anniversary Season, joined by the Mahler Chamber Orchestra for two barnstorming nights.
One of the most electrifying pianists of our time, Yuja Wang is known for her breathtaking technique, charismatic stage presence and emotional depth, conquering audiences around the globe and constantly pushing the boundaries of classical music. Yuja was named Musical America Artist of the Year 2017, and was selected by Gramophone as one of the “50 Greatest Classical Pianists on Record.”
For this highly anticipated return, Yuja showcases her versatility as both pianist and conductor, leading the Mahler Chamber Orchestra from the keyboard. Opening their Asia tour in Hong Kong, Yuja and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra will perform both Brahms piano concertos on 9 November (Monday). The second concert on 10 November (Tuesday) features concertos by jazz composers Kapustin and Tsfasman, alongside symphonies by Mozart and Prokofiev.

作為當代樂壇最炙手可熱的鋼琴家之一，王羽佳憑藉令人驚嘆的高超技藝、獨樹一格的舞台魅力與深邃的音樂洞察力，征服國際樂壇，不斷在古典音樂中尋求突破。王羽佳獲《音樂美國》雜誌評為2017年度藝術家，並被《留聲機》雜誌選為「史上最偉大五十位鋼琴家」之一。
是次引頸以待的音樂會，王羽佳身兼鋼琴家及指揮，領攜馬勒室樂團呈獻兩晚演出。馬勒室樂團由傳奇指揮巨擘阿巴度（Claudio Abbado）於1997年創立，匯聚歐洲頂尖樂手，以全球巡演及與世界級音樂家合作聞名，乃世界頂尖室內樂團之一。
作為是次亞洲巡演的首站，王羽佳與馬勒室樂團將於首晚（11月9日）為香港觀眾帶來全套的布拉姆斯鋼琴協奏曲。次晚（11月10日）則帶來卡普斯汀的鋼琴協奏曲與齊法斯曼的爵士組曲，以及莫扎特及浦羅哥菲夫的交響曲。
